Hello,

This month:

A Canon F1 (F1(n)) and a Pentax KX. Both look to be in Primo condition. Received the Pentax yesterday. It is Primo. The Canon is due in Monday. Wish me luck, please.

I'd love to hear how you like the KX.

Hello,

Andrew O'Neill: I have the Pentax KX in my hands. Got it to complement my Ricoh XR1.Have a Rikenon 50mm 1.7 on it right now. Handles better than my Ricoh. Reminds me of my Canon FTBn and Nikon FM2n. Solid, dependable, weight just right. Can't wait to take it out and shoot. I also have a Pentax 55mm 1.8. Going to shoot both to see which lens will sit on this body.

Good job! The Kiev 30/303 family often come with two cartridges (one in the camera and one in a coffin case), but those don't fit the Minolta built cameras or Vega 16.

I have 400 ft of Vision2 waiting to be used :D

A 105mm Weitwinkel Anastigmat from Georg Leitmeyr München in a Prontor-S shutter. Part of my ongoing quest for decent moderate wide 4x5 lenses (soon to be upgraded to 5x7 and 8x10 lenses) that are small (i.e. not biogon/super angulon/grandagon derivitives.)

Just bought the 50mm lens for the Mamiya 6 (which I had found not too long ago for a very good price with the two other lenses).

And also on the way (but might need a little bit cleaning), a Sonnar 180 for my Praktina.
With luck I find one day one of those rare adapters from the 50s which allows easy conversion of this lens to Pentacon 6 mount, like this I can use it on my Pentax 645n easily. This is the early version, before an actual P6 version existed, and third party adapters took advantage of the removable Flektoskop -> Praktina adapter on the lens to mount it to the Praktisix. Right now I see the adapter only for a very high price, but I have no rush...

Got a 3-pack of Vanguard small foam bag dividers for my Think Tank Vision 15 messenger bag. The dividers that came with the Think Tank bag are "fine", but were a smidge too thin for my liking & wanted something a bit thicker.

Mine was a WISTA „Fixed Point Pan Head“ #831 (does anyone know, what this term means?). It‘s a nice and sturdy 3-way head.

Pentax SFX off eBay for cheap.
Couple of rolls of 35mm film and some more 120 film sheets.
About to buy a roll of 120 colour negative film for an important family photoshoot tomorrow - Pop's 95th birthday.
And I need to order a replacement Lumix GM5 screen off AliExpress.

Photography - such an inexpensive hobby ;-)

Thanks. He's not in the best of health and it may be the last time we can get all four siblings in the same room with him. Hence just plonking down AU$40 for a roll of fresh Porta 800. He's arguably the reason I got into photography - he was a news photographer for over 40 years.

I'm embarrassed it took me near 10 seconds to figure out where I knew that "poem" from, hehe... \,,/, ,\,,/

Carl Zeiss Distagon 4/40 T* CF FLE.

I did consider the SWC 903 instead, but decided the marginal trade off in lens performance was worth being able to precisely compose. I know there is the ground glass adapter and reflex viewer for the SWC, but that is extra bulk/weight to carry, and is slow and cumbersome to use, not to mention impossible hand-held. The 903 is also about three times the price. The downside of the 40 is the exorbitantly expensive filters. Everything is a compromise.

It's taken many years, but my Hasselblad kit is thus pretty much complete. The only other lens I still covet is the 350mm Superachromat, but those are truly ludicrous money so I doubt that will ever come to pass.

I had an original 40mm C that was stolen but had replacement insurance on it. The insurance company bought me a brand new 40mm FLE like yours. (I tried to explain that I'd bought mine used and was only looking for equivalent compensation but they said "You paid for replacement insurance, you get a new one." Kind of lovely, I thought.)

It's a superb piece of glass and you'll really enjoy it, I think.

Best wishes to your father. I too have a beloved family member in the 90s.

No doubt. Just shot a few frames with it, but have yet to develop the roll. I seldom use ultrawides, but sometimes nothing else will do.

Fuji GX680 III with the standard 135 f/5.6, plus a 180 f/3.2 and a 100 f/4. Already shot 2 rolls, what an amazing camera to work with..
