I lost £10 in London once, but I guess it is not quite the same now. Oh you are talking about money.

It's swings and roundabouts, now is not a good time for those of us in the UK, and to a certain extent the EU, for buying from the US. but then you can benefit from the current lower exchange rates and buy items rarely seen in the US

I've seen the Pound fall to almost parity with the US Dollar before, and the opposite £1 nearly reaching $2 in value.

Must get down to work, I have various British LF SLRs to restore and sell . . . . . . . . . . as well as field cameras . . . and some US cameras as well. 2x 10x8 Agfa Ansco's, 3x 7x5 Seneca's etc.

Ten rolls of Tri-X in 120, and the CLA for my Kodak Chevron. I must have magic fairy dust on me or something - I dropped off the Chevron for servicing a week ago. They emailed me on Monday with the estimate ($250 for a full CLA including shutter, viewfinder/rangefinder adjustment, and film advance adjustment), I Ok'd the estimate, and they emailed me on Tuesday to let me know it was done and ready to pick up. My repair shop must really really like me.

I sort through, pick out what I want, then I have a couple friends who have a chance. Anything that's left I take to another friend who will make a pile for Craigslist for cheap, cheap usually 30-40 bucks, we split the proceeds, usually enough for a nice lunch.

I remember $2 / £1. I ordered a new RH Designs Vario Fstop timer from Secondhand Darkroom Supplies on Monday. Still expensive but it's now or never! The pound will rebound shortly, MHOFWIW.

I’m not really into the expired film thing, but when you find a roll of Plus-X for $3 you don’t ask questions. I’m sure the past three decades in Alabama have been just fine, freezer or not…

Also, an unused 3.5” x 5” SPEED-EZ-EL (print easel) in the same shop.

I can remember when " a dollar" was common parlance for 5 shillings in Britain ( a quarter of a pound, pre- decimalization) and indeed the exchange rate at the time was four dollars to the pound.

I got for free, a 1940's - 50's Kodak 17 x 20 inch enlarger easel. Absolutely beautiful, it was pretty dirty. Warm water and some paper towels was all it took. Adjustable allows up to 5 inch borders for Salon prints.

This kind of thing is what makes photography so enjoyable to me.

Just ordered Pyrocat HD and some polysulphide toner from Photographer's Formulary. I also bought a used AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8G lens for my F6. Oh and just to really waste money I bought a Nikon MV-1 so that I can down load the shooting data off the F6. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I was able to download the data onto a Compact Flash Card, then upload the data onto my computer, and open it in a spreadsheet with any problems.
