Film chemistry from a Photrio member, a box of goodies for the darkroom also from a Photrio member, 2x 645 220 film backs to play around with and some Ilford paper developer to replenish the supplies. All items needed to pass this time of staying safe indoors that nearly all of us are respectfully doing.

Hexar AF. Wanted to get one since 2010, finally decided to sell one of Leitz lenses that I seldom use, and got the Konica. I am in P&S phase right now .

Today, I ordered a darkroom exhaust fan (light tight through-wall) and matching vent louver (also light-tight, through wall or door) for my darkroom construction.

Then, about 20 minutes later, I bought an Omega Universal 4x5 Variable Condenser lamp house, clean, refurbished, with both condenser elements and a lamp (bulb) installed. For $70 and free shipping. :D

I just ordered darkroom supplies - Microphen, Kodak Fixer, Sepia Toner, etc. Guess I'm boring.
I think you can do a lot of interesting things with such chemicals. Why microphen?, I only use it with pushed processing, you seem like a slow film type of guy.

That is big! Do you have a suitable camera or do you cut them down?

I cut them down to 4x4"; 4x5"; 4x6" and 6x8" sizes for use in 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 cameras.

Just bought some satin black anodized aluminum sheet metal to make a couple of new 7x17 dark slides to replace warped ones. Also have a email in to Custom Bellow to have new 717 bellows made, just waiting for their lockdown to end. Getting closer on the 717 project.

A cheap box of goodies including a set of 58mm diopters from a Photrio member. Next up: a complete darkroom.

About three weeks ago, I bought a Linhof Technika 23 with a Xenotar 105mm ƒ2.8 lens, some 6.5x9 sheet film holders, and a 54x72 Super Rollex roll film back. Unfortunately, the roll film back, while it works fine, is kind of useless because with it in place, it is quite difficult to see through the viewfinder. So I've decided to shoot with the sheet film holders. Unfortunately that size sheet film seems only to be made with blue sensitive electron microscope film.

I got a roller cutter for cutting down larger sheet film to the smaller format. Along with that I ordered a box of cotton gloves for handling the film, a spool for developing that size sheets in a Patterson tank, printfile sleeves and besfile binder to store the negatives.

While I was at it, I wanted to fill the camera out with a wide and tele. The wide was a Super-Angulon, 65mm ƒ8, and the tele was a Tele-Arton 180mm, ƒ4. Then I had to get lens boards too.

So, one $450 spur of the moment purchase (camera and 105mm lens), snowballed into a whole $1100 project, that is still possibly going to expand to cost me more money (as I eye 2.25x3.25 film holders, instax mini film, and an instax camera to shoot instax on this camera, and the junker camera to develop it.)

I don't think I need any more cameras, but I do get tempted by the build quality and solidity of the Linhof cameras, compared to my slightly wobbly 4x5 Shen-Hao, which is making me consider a 4x5 Technika to replace it.

Polaroid Land 180 camera. I already have some other cameras that I could use with pack film, but since I have a limited supply of both colour and B&W film left I wanted a camera where I had more control over the settings to ensure a higher success rate. Now I just need to come up with a couple of projects worth shooting!

An Omega D2XL with Chromega color head. "Parts only, as is" -- but all the parts seem to be present and one photo shows the light lit. Beyond that, I can probably fix anything needed.

Well at least most of us have a bit of extra time on our hands at the moment!

Bought a couple of cheap Nikon F lenses on the 'Bay yesterday. They were such bargains, and from well-known sellers, that I couldn't resist. I guess now I'm going to have to start a Nikon F system acquisition plan.

I sure seem to only find expensive Nikon lenses. I only got a 50 1.8 AF with the FM and it is so cheap feeling it puts me off from using the camera. I'll eventually sell it to probably finance a Series E, if I find an affordable one.

If you don't need the AI indexing, the late sixties and early 70s versions are surprisingly cheap whether you buy from the used gear dealers or just snipe at the cheap auctions from sellers you have some insight on. I'm watching a few others as well. It's kind of bass ackwards to start with the lenses at the long and short end of the spectrum, then work your way back to the middle and finally get a body, but that's the way I roll.

I've considered it, but it would put the camera at a disadvantage with other systems I already have. I would like to get a proper manual focus AI lens first, and if I felt I want to expand maybe cover the gaps with the non-AI.
