$9 at a thrift store.

Sears 9845 (also known as Sears Continental 45) slide projector. This model was not on the market for very long. The clever (in a suspicious way) designer reverse-engineered the Kodak Carousel design, with a different blower path, and "backwards" in relation to the Carousel (the lens is on the left front of the projector).

Well, Sears briefly sold its own 80-slide circular gravity-fed slide tray, also called the "Continental". Continental trays fit Carousel projectors, but the slides had to be mounted "backwards" (the instruction book with the tray showed how to do this).

Sears Continental trays fit Kodak Carousel projectors, but Kodak Carousel trays did not fit the Sears Continental projectors (the platform has three protrusions, the Continental tray has three holes in the right places, but the Carousel trays did not have those holes).

A previous owner substituted a DAK lamp for the relatively-rare DHN lamp prescribed for the Continental. The DAK lamp does fit the socket and lights up, but has a thinner glass bulb, lacks a heat shield, and lacks a proximity reflector.

This caused the DAK to get pretty hot, leaving the lamp with a somewhat amusing blister :D

what was you last photo related thread?

hi ralph, funny you should ask
in a sort of lame attempt, just about 3 months ago today ...
my last photo related thread was about me wanting to get ultra fine grained 30x40 enlargements
from 35mm tri x and hp5.
i had a variety of answers ranging from " use rodinal, d76 &al." to an age-old tried-and-true
enlargement method written about in photography magazines in the 1950s, to using
'obsidian aqua"
i am afraid of pyro and catchol, virgin's blood and medevil treachery ---
my magic bullet ended up being from a 110 year old photographic annual
and required a developer made steeping alpaca dung in metol and sulfite ( and a few other things ),
but it didn't work out too well, my alpaca dealer gave me the wrong type of dung ,
and then tried to sell me a boutique breed of dog called a "ßox of $hit" ( boxer + shitzu mix )..
but because a couple of people were offended i had the thread locked down...
good times

my last purchase was fuel so i could travel ... too broke to actually purchase anything tangible and of photographic-significance

 xD Now to bring it back to life, back to reality, should I buy a roll of 120 Portra 400 or fuji 400H? I think I'll go American, and get a roll of 120 Kodak and a roll of 35mm for my Nikon F100!!!:D

truzi
thanks
that is CLASSIC ..
but the medieval humor in the thread
was not as developed .. you know
it is like the difference between a perfectly exposed negative
and one that barely has an image on it, and is so underdeveloped
no one even realizes it was there ...

newt on swings
i am sure it will be fine.
you can post your results to the expired film group if you would like ..

As I mentioned in a prior post, I purchased and now receceived, both my Nikon F100 and Nikkor 28mm 2.8 AIS! They look great, and the lens looks superior, especially upon removal of the ever present UV filter! Well it's actually a Nikon 62mm Skylight L1BC (1B) Glass Filter! Unfortunately my inability to comprehend directions via a youtube video on how to load the F100 with film, has lead me most likely ruin this roll! You see I know for a fact I erred because after a couple of shots, I noticed that the the film counter number had not advanced, and even though I knew this. I proceeded to shoot a couple of more vintage homes in my area, Tudor revivals mostly, and one extremely picturesque Queen Anne built during the early nineteen-twenties!
To add to the mental ineptitude, I opened the back to exam what I felt was a stuck film, only to see that the film had in fact moved forward! The equipment functions well as far as I can tell, but as for me...

Daniel Tan , Aug 13, 2005; 07:45 a.m. it doesn't rewind by default at the end of the roll. you can change that setting to do so. It's custom setting 1.
About the film not advancing issue, make sure that you've not set the multiple exposure mode on. It's the left dial which should be set to 'S'.

NAILED IT!
