what to do with film pack holders ?

I have several of these in both 2x3 and 4x5. I purchased them with film packs in them and I was hoping to use them up. Most of them had either unexposed film or were partially exposed. I know that they cannot be re-used without expending some time,energy and money. Any thoughts on this or should I just give them away or chuck them into the trash.

I wouldn't throw them into the trash. List them for free + postage in the classifieds or put them up for sale on ebay. They make a base for adapters or similar projects and their darkslides are usable.

probably means the old graflex film pack holders for when things like tri-x came in packs of 16 sheets (on a thinner 120-type base). They can be converted into plate holders for those into dry/wet plate photography.

Film packs for them aren't made anymore. They are not the same as the Polaroid pack film, though somewhat similar in concept. They contained 10 (I think) sheets of thin sheet film attached to a paper backing with tabs sticking out the side. After an exposure you pulled the tab for that sheet which pulled it around to the back of the package and pulled the next sheet into place. They were very handy in that you had 10 shots in the space of one holder. But the film was a bit of a pain to handle. Because of the bending, it was the thickness of roll film, and they were slightly bigger than a regular sheet of film, so they didn't fit standard developing hangers, nor negative carriers.

As for the film pack adaptors/holders some of the wet plate folks like them, so I understand.
