They were sold in a Compur #1 so will fit a Copal #1.

That's what I thought and was told but I have two G Claron lenses (210 and 305) that don't fit into the Copal 1's m40 front female thread.

They both have threads of M39-0.75.

I found a ton people saying how their g clarons fit into copal 1's and two people who claimed they don't. One of those people said they don't fit copal 1's and have a male thread of M39-0.75, which I found out to be true in my specific case.

I'm wondering what's going on and what shutter they will fit?

There were two versions of the G Claron, I think only the later ones fit a shutter and in fact Schneider sold off there excess stock in Copal shutters for LF use.

I have a Compound #3 shutter with no rear internal threads to take a lens cell, this was made for front mounting a complete lens, there is an aperture control but the scale is unmarked

Okay gotcha. So I have the ones with the M39 front cell male threads. Now all I need is a M39-0.75 TO M40-0.75 ADAPTER which I apparently they don't make.

I was suggesting something quite different, mounting the lens in front of a shutter. This is how the Tominon 75mm is fitted to a Prontor Press shutter by Polaroid.

An adapter ~1mm thick would be very delicate and most likely would bend if you looked at it wrong.
Consider it would be about .5mm on each side of a circle. You could try teflon plumbers tape I think there's
another recent thread with a similar problem/solution.
