If you love Jazz!

Here is my selection for today. If you love Jazz or photographs of musicians, check out the work of Karlhienz Kluter. He has 400 images of jazz artists taken between 1960 and 1983. Great images and a fantastic historical resource.

I'm shooting more square images than ever before and also doing more b&w work, too. So, this morning I'm looking at Michael Kenna's site, http://www.michaelkenna.net/ and photographs from our own Thomas Bertilsson, (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

Don McCullin...trying to get a reasonably-priced copy of his 'Sleeping with Ghosts', but about $260 at Amazon is just too steep for me.

This morning with coffee:

Robert Frank - Storylines - a must for Frank fans, a very inspirational book

Alec Soth - Sleeping by the Mississippi - I lived for a brief period in one of the little towns he photographed in here so these pics always make me home sick. Plus he such a darn good photographer.

Been looking at a couple of Wright Morris books I have: Home Place and God's Country and My People.

Jim, your quote has reminded me that I need to dig out my one Robert Adams book. It is one he did in Oregon of the clearcuts. There was one he did of interiors can't remember the name, I wanted it really bad and it sold out before I could get a copy...... I love his stuff.

Finally used my Border's gift card from Father's Day and purchased "Richard Avedon - Performance". I like the book and love the photos, although, I haven't gone through it all yet. Inspiring nonetheless.

Yesterday, Brett Weston exhibit at the SB Museum of Art...awe-inspiring!
