That's good to know. I figured that may be the case but I've always wondered. I still may pick up a TLR anyway since most of them are fairly affordable and I can always re-sell down the line. Probably just my GAS kicking in though lol.

I had a Mamiya C330 and it was a real beast compared to a Rolleiflex with the 3.5 Tessar. Also have a Hasselblad kit consisting of a 500C/M, several lenses, and an SWC/M. The Hasselblad gets used the most, but the Rollei (with its limitations) works well as a simple lightweight compact carry around camera.

That's another good point, it may be nice to have a simpler, slightly more compact TLR for days when I don't want to think about lugging around extra gear or worry if I grabbed the right lenses for the situation with the Hasselblad. Lots to ponder...

Put all the Hasselblad lenses in the car and just take out the ones you want to use for that the location.

Fine if you have a car. A few years ago I spent a week walking for miles and taking the metro all over Washington DC. The camera was my Rolleiflex - got some great photos. In October I was in Berlin using public transportation and wearing out the shoe leather; took an even smaller camera; Leica M2 with a few lenses - yep, 35mm, and got some really nice shots.

When I'm near my car or camper van closer to home, sure it can be the Hasselblad or large format. Although on a trip over this past weekend to southwestern New Mexico I only took the 5x7 and a Leica, no Hasselblad due to my goals for that trip.

In New Zealand a few years ago I did take a Hasselblad, but also a Leica. But I was working out of a rented camper van.

It's nice to have options that fit what I'm trying to accomplish.

Yashicamat 124G

What great cameras. My first 120 camera was a Yashica twin lens from the 1950s. Some adult acquaintance gave it to me, needed shutter maintenance. That camera convinced me that medium format was the way to go. I couldn't afford fancier setups, Hasselblad seemed (and was) way out of my affordability index.

Makiflex Standard BandL Super Cinephor Linhof Graflex Back by Nokton48, on Flickr

This is my second Makiflex Standard, bought from a shoppe in Vienna. It has been heavily, professionally modified. Note the custom Side Handle. The Front Standard is HEAVILY MODIFIED, note the precison machine werk. Quite a bit of the camera has been removed! Right under the lens is a LENS SWING MECHANISM, which has a ball detent (NICE) and swings the front standard on the optical axis of the lens. Quite a bit of Swing is possible, seems very sturdy and built to last. The cool thing about the Standard Makiflex, is that the inside throat is more spacious, and has no cables getting ini the way of BEEG lens. This boat anchor of a lens, is a Bausch&Lomb Super Cinephor, 159.1mm F2.0, which is outrageously fast. It looks great I think on this camera, and it will get some use this Spring, I can tell you. It's going to be FUN. This is a olde lens meant for 70mm and 35mm Cinema Projection, like in a commercial theatre. Cool that it fits the Standard, but won't fit my Automatic Makiflex, for the above reasons. So this lens is an Uber Speed Light Sucker, great that I can swing the front, say like, when doing a portrait or still life. On the back is the Makiflex 4x5 Holder that takes Linhof Plate Holders, or Graflex Graphic Holders, with the flip of a couple of switches top and bottom. Linhof Holders are much thicker, and can also take planfilm or glass plates. They are mucho Deluxe

I did an inventory of all the cameras I have or will have available to me soon. I counted 23 cameras in total, which includes 5 digital cameras. My favorite format is the middle of the road format- medium format that uses 120 film.

The medium format cameras I have are:

Holga 120
Yashica A
Fuji GW690
Fuji GSW690
Pentax 645N
Pentax 67II
Franka 6x9 Folder
Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/2 6x9 Folder
and my recent purchase of a Mamiya RZ67 Pro.

My two favorites out of this list are both of the Pentax units, with the Fuji GW690 a third. Reason the Fuji is third is because the lens is fixed focal length, and it doesn't have a light meter of some sort. Other then that its a great camera.

What are you guys using and which is your favorite?

Hasselblad V-system. what else is there?

system camera: Hasselblad V......Pentax 67......Mamiya RB/RZ......*Pentacon Six......Mamiya Cxx/Cyyy......Diana F+

TLR/Folder (fixed lens): Rolleiflex/Rolleicord......Zeiss TLR/folders......Fuji fixed/folders......Holga......all other TLRs/Folders

*after service they run good.

Rolleicord Vb
Rolleiflex T
Pentax 67
Holga CFN

The Rolleicord was my first MF camera, and it's still my favourite and most used. Light, simple, reliable, fantastic lens and, as it only cost £130, I don't worry about it being damaged or stolen.

Yashica Mat-124G
Zeiss Super Ikonta 534/16
Welta Weltur in 645
Konica Pearl RS

I have a small group of preWW2 folders but my most used are Zeiss Super Ikonta IV, Voightlander Bessa RF, and Rolleiflex.

I recently got a Hasselblad 500 C/M camera with 50, 80 and 150mm lenses

Since I am not interested in accumulating cameras, I have sold the Bronica C2 and the Yashica Mat and for now I will keep the Bronica ETRSi because I like the format

My analog equipment is therefore made up of the Bronica ETRSi with a 75mm Zenzanon lens, the Hasselblad equipment and a Toyo View 4x5" with a 125mm Fuji lens and the only thing I want to continue expanding is to get 2 or 3 lenses for the large format camera

My Hasselblad 70's Blad Basic System by Nokton48, on Flickr

I've been using my olde 70's vintage Hasselblad system in the studio for a while and now I'm getting ready to go out with it. My olde wedding cameras I used up a lot of 220 in those days. I have thinned it down a bit, at one time I had all the lenses. Now the 30 T* Distagon, the 40mm T* Distagon, the 60mm T* Distagon, the 80mm T* Planar, 100 T* Planar, and the 135 T* Bellows Planar, and the 350mm non-T*

New to me Hasselblad CFV16 Digital back by Nokton48, on Flickr

I've wanted this CFV16 Hasselblad Digital Back for over twenty years. This one came along at a decent price and now it's mine. Fat Pixels and Beautiful Colors, this is a coveted Hasselblad item. And it matches up perfectly to my 500C/M and 500 EL/M bodies. Kinda like shooting Kodachrome. BTW this was $12,000 when it was introduced 😭

Hasselblad 501cm and fotoman 6x17 for me. The 6x17 feels borderline for “medium format”

The Silvestri SLV is a revelation and somewhat a learning curve for me (what I like).
It’s a 6x9 with vertical shift, and a Super-Angulon 47 mm 2nd generation with a centerfilter and a Wista roll film back.
The viewfinder is a leather bellows attached on the ground glass and loupe.
I bought it used in Italy.
