Ahhh, now a Hasselblad 500ELM is hard to beat, especially in a church! Heard a digicam the other day, not only a synthesised shutter sound, but motor wind as well....now that was weak assed.

My Nikon FE2 & MD-12 at 3.5 FPS is ok but a bit too loud.

My Nikon F4AS at 5.7 fp is *sweet* by comparison and much quieter.

I laugh when I move the F4AS to CS (Continuous Silent) -then it wheezes like a 2-pack-a-day smoker at about 1 FPS. Louder then 5.7 FPS...

If you ever heard a Zeiss Ikon Contarex you know that very special shutter noise, it's a little bit like releasing 500 mechanic parts that are all under high tension, a little bit like a clockwork shooting a round like a battleship cannonade. Well, they made a motor drive for that camera to add more fun:

A very weird noise, all together, I heard it once only. These gadgets are rare and in most cases defective today.

I have the Nikon F4 with its built-in motor and a motorized Nikon F2. The sound of the F4 is nice but my favorite is the F2 with an MD1 or MD2 motor drive powered by an MB1 battery pack.

if you are limited by to 5-10secs of motor winding nirvana, just do it without any film in... no idea about most of these combos, but works for the FE/FM with MD12.

Without a doubt, it has to be the Nikon F2/MD2 combo, followed by the Nikon F3/MD4 combo.
