Hello to all!

What is really Durst Colamp 250?

I found some info in internet about Osram (more) and Philips (less) have made lamp for Durst Pictochrome enlagers.

What is really Colamp - specially tested and selected by colormetr at the manufacturers factory or only marked "Durst Colamp 250W 24V" ?

Sergey, I have never heard of a Pictochrome enlarger, so I went looking. I found this person has one for sale with lots of goodies, including manuals etc, etc,.

You may just pm him for some information, what have you got to lose.

Personally I would think that there would or should be an equivilant light globe for your enlarger.

Mick.

It is a 24 volt halogen lamp that has the proper color spectrum for color printing. An equivalent wattage and voltage lamp should work provided the lamp has the proper base for your socket. The color rendition is most affective when you are printing color...less so when you are printing black and white.

I really understand about role of proper color spectrum in color printing. In B/W this is about chromatic abberation (more blured smallest details in prints).

I only work in B/W.
In addition this unique Durst Pictochrome have special calibration system to compensate color change due mixing box plastic diffuser color or lense changing.

So, that mean, I may use not only branded Durst Colamp 250?

I have the same enlarger so if you find a good replacement option let me know. Luckily my bulb is still going strong..
