EVERYONE references "Anchell and Troop" when talking about everything from development normally to obscure darkroom techniques and formulas. What is the title of this book, and does anyone know where I may get a copy?

The name of the books most are referencing are The Darkroom Cookbook and The Film Developing Cookbook; Amazon and local bookstores often have a copy too.

Quick search Dead Link Removed found em both. I don't have a connection to these.

Already have the "Darkroom" may get the other some day.

Hope this helps.

I've seen several used mint condition copies at my local Half-Price Books, usually from $5 to $8. Just bought their last copy the other day as a gift for a friend. Perhaps in the future I'll just snag what they get and offer them here.

Relatedly, what's the relationship between the two? I just have the DC and haven't look at the FDC.

Even cheaper here

True but the Sex and Insanity book that's sandwiched in between two copies of the Darkroom Cookbook is even cheaper still. I wonder which ( sex or photography) leads to insanity the quicker?

As I understand it (not having the Darkroom Cookbook), the DC covers paper developers, toners, lith developers, and other paper related chemistry as well as some film related stuff, while the Film Developing Cookbook is strictly related to film, with strong emphasis on developers for all occasions, a couple fixer formulae, and the barest mention of stop bath.

The Darkroom Cookbook needs to go on my "must get" list...

there are film developers in the Darkroom Cookbook as well.
