All this fuss about DPUG so I went there and found that I have to create a new account.

When I tried (repeatedly I might add) the registration was rejected with the message "Playthrough game not completed."

So, what is the use? APUG account invalid there and new account uncreatable.

I'm not sure what that error message refers to. Is it something else running on your computer? In any case, you would need a separate account on DPUG for now, but you shouldn't have difficulty creating it. I'll let Sean know.

I tried again and here is the message:

The PlayThru game was not completed. Please try again.

It will not "create".

When you create an account there is a human verification system to stop spammers. Sometimes it a little game like catching butterflies with your mouse pointer or such. If you fail the game it could give you an error. I will set your account up and email you..

Ah.... I looked up "PlayThru" and it seems like a mechanism for verifying that you're a real person, like "Captcha" but in the form of a little game, that you should have seen (maybe you have to scroll down) somewhere in the registration process. Maybe Sean is testing it there as an anti-SPAM measure, I'm not sure. In any case, if you see something like that, complete the game to verify that you are not a spambot.

Maybe you only "win" the game when you acknowledge magenta is not a colour.:whistling:

OR you have to acknowledge that magenta is not a color either.

PE is not the only one to experience very basic troubles with DPUG. As I mentioned before, I am unable to post, receiving a "Thank you for posting. Your post must be reviewed by a moderator before it is posted" message.

It never gets reviewed. Never gets posted. Logging out and then logging back in, changing password... nothing seems to help. And sending a contact message to the admin apparently goes into a black hole.

Presuming I am not the only one seeing this behavior, DPUG is not very usable.

Apologies to those who have been waiting for approvals at DPUG. We have fewer moderators over there (two plus Sean and myself as backup) than here (five including myself plus Sean), and all the moderators are volunteers, both at DPUG and at APUG, so there may be times where everyone at DPUG is traveling or otherwise not able to check into the forum, or due to international time differences, response can be slow. This past week, I checked the moderation queue for the past year to see if there were any outstanding items, and cleared any that were waiting for approval. After the first approval, you shouldn't require additional approvals.

I hope that the new forum structure will make it easier for the APUG moderators to fill in when DPUG is short staffed.

Thanks, David! I think you've squared me away over on DPUG.

Much appreciate all that you, and the other moderators, do for us...
