What is "100% crop"?

What's happening here?!? I've never ever seen "100% crop" used like this, to mean uncopped, or to mean "resized to fit screen/other display medium", and half the posts in this thread claim stuff like that. Has anyone tried building another tower to take a peak into heaven recently?

Earlier generations of photographers learned the technology and associated terminology from print media - books and magazines. Today's online introduction and discussion of new developments in photography is a crowd sourced jumbled mess. And there doesn't seem to be any way out of it.

Discussions like this one about "100% crop" are merely humorous, because nobody is harmed. But there are times in real life when confusion about terminology can have serious consequences.

Simple... it's " more than 100% less".
