This is how I plan to do it as I have a two roll tank.

When you have 10 rolls of film to do, are you doing one shot or are you using replenished developer? So far I haven't been able to shoot 10 rolls before I've processed some so I've just done one shot but it would be cheaper if I could use 1L for 10 rolls instead of using 2.5-5L for the same thing one shot. I'm often push processing which isn't recommended for replenished anyways is it? Not sure why but I always need more speed it seems, 800, 1600 or 3200.

I've now souped all the rolls I shot yesterday and today, aside from one C41 roll of Kodak Portra 400VC which I dropped off. Picked up 3 rolls of C41 from the lab, one 120 and two 126, came out beautifully. The rolls of B&W I did myself came out as well, I think I might almost be getting the hang of the plastic Paterson Super System 4 reel and tank for 120. Oh, I still have one 120 Delta 400 roll to do tomorrow that's right...

My DD-X seems to have low D-Max so I've switched back to HC-110 for the moment while I contact Ilford about the DD-X. It isn't uselessly low but the negs are a bit thin, even the leader portion of 35mm so it isn't my exposure, it is the developer. The HC-110 stuff comes out with the right D-Max :-S

I didn't make it to my local film dealer last Friday, so I had to take a roll of HP5+ out for new year's eve instead of the planned Delta 3200. I hope I can get it push processed one stop without it costing me an arm and a leg.

One stop of push might not even be required. The cheapest way would be for you to develop it yourself of course ;-)

I did things backward yesterday. I wanted to pour my 1L bottle of DD-X into a 500mL bottle. I thought I was at least halfway down but after I poured it all into a 500mL bottle I had exactly 50mL left, just enough to do a single 35mm roll in a SS Nikor tank. I didn't want to leave 50mL in an otherwise empty bottle for long. It was raining so I thought I'd get some slow shutter rain drop shots outside with my weather resistant EOS 1N RS and 24-70 f/2.8L lens. If I'd wanted fast shutters I would have loaded Delta 3200. The 6ms shutter lag and high speed drive is good for capturing drops and ripples. I loaded batteries, put my last roll of expired Dec/2006 Ilford Delta 100 into the camera and went out and shot the whole 36 frames while walking my dog. Once home I developed it in the DD-X 1+4 for 12 minutes at 21C.

Developing film yourself is not easy when your student room is about the size of a matchbox . When I move to spacier conditions, setting up a nice darkroom will be a priority. Until then, it's the lab for me.

You can develop B&W, just not print.

Small changing bag + day tank + reel + a few 1L bottles stashed in a corner.

This will gain you a lot of control and flexibility without taking up much space. Should also save you quite a bit of money.

Yeah, that's right. All you need to develop a roll is a sink really though you could always use a waste bottle if you don't have a sink. I even use bottles of water for the wash rather than the tap so I really only use the running tap water for washing up. All the equipment will fit under a bathroom sink though you might want to keep the changing bag somewhere else so it doesn't get damp.

Costs about $0.50/roll to do it yourself. Once you develop it yourself the film is the most expensive part, then you think about getting a bulk film roll and loader ;-)

I'm usually a B&W shooter, but I took my Pentax 6X7 and a few rolls of 220 Portra 400 to the pre-Rose Parade staging area New Year's morning. More interesting than shooting the parade itself; it's much easier to get up close with the floats, organizers, and participants before the event actually begins, and there's a real "backstage" atmosphere. I did see a couple of other film shooters, but I was the only one shooting MF. I think next year I'll take the 645, though; as much as I love the 6X7, I felt after a while as if I was using it in this situation just to prove I could, and would have appreciated the extra automation.

I have two 1L Tetenal kits coming so I need to shoot up a bunch of color film for a good run! I started today with a roll of expired Fuji NPH400 (shot at 200 or so) 120 in the Mamiya RB67, some winter scenes with touches of color in them. 8 rolls to go to use up the 1L kit within a few days of opening, with 3 tanks and 5 reels I'll have to see how fast I can process them.

Now I definitely have enough for a Tetenal run if only I could find the time with 4 120 rolls (3 Kodak Portra 400VC and one Fuji NPH400) and 2 Fuji Superia 800-24 rolls ready to go. Hopefully later today I can get developing.

It seems to be about all I shoot in 35 these days! There really is not anything like it. I guess I do use Arista Premium 400 and Fujicolor Superia 400/800 sometimes.

I will develop only B&W by myself. And I totally understand you regarding RB67, since I have Bronica GS-1.

You should try color. I was not sure about it at first but in a way color is easier, one temperature, one time, one routine for all films. Push by 1 or 2 stops just means some extra time in dev, again fixed for all films it seems. Kodak, Fuji, Solaris, all seem similar. No more lab drop off for me, a nice feeling!

I read about the 8 reel tank above, I don't have one that big. Hand inversion agitating that must be fun...
