I thought Reala was basically Provia100f resold as cheaper film?

Also, I didn't realize China was still so bad you couldn't even photograph protests. So how come you can get away with being seen taking the photos? You're using a 120 camera of some kinds, so it must be noticeable?

I think you've mistaken it for superia. On Wikipedia it says superia reala was the professional film stock and superia was the general consumer version early on. Then later superia film stocks inherited the technology of the reala films. I don't shoot much color but reala is hands down my fav.

As for the protests there are so many people documenting it I would not be surprised if there aren't a number of medium format film shooters there. Hong Kong seems to have a fairly large photo and analog film audience. You should try scanning them yourself if you have a digi cam, or contact print them and use a regular scanner.

As for what film I've shot recently, I put a roll of tmax 400 through my new to me fuji dl super mini zoom. Quite a name for a tiny camera. It's a test roll so I'm hoping for the best.

Reala is color negative film, the finest ever made at 100 speed. I don't know if it is Provia, but Sensia is Fujifilm's consumer slide film.

Hong Kong is 100% free and I could easily get my film processed there in a lab if I had the time. I brought my film back to China, where freedom is lacking and so I don't want to risk sending my film to a lab.

Yes, there were many, many people photographing the protesters, including people from mainland China. I never did see any other film shooters while out in Hong Kong. It's a digital world there for sure, although getting film is VERY easy in Hong Kong; as easy as Japan.

Hong Kong is part of China, but has a separate legal system as well as currency.

Two rolls of Ilford Delta 3200 in 120. I processed it in Pyrocat HD - I think the negs came out just a little flat, so next time I'll either run it for a couple minutes more or else I'll run it in Rodinal. They were relatively grainless, and I was expecting a little more grit and texture, but maybe that's from the medium format.

(After all these years and I still manage to foul up with such a basic error!)

I did that about a month ago on my 8x10...

BUT I decided to process it anyway... It took me a while to figure out which image was the "bad" one... I lucked out and both were exposed relatively to the same degree, the only difference was the depth of field on the "oops" shot, you should process it anyway and see if you got anything

When I pulled the Darkside out, there was a teeny tiny bit of camera shake, nothing serious, but I have to admit even to myself I was very surprised at how sharpen the image came out, I'm really impressed with this Chamonix!

If it makes ya'll feel better I was going to shoot some 2.25X3.5 HP5+ in the Linhof a while back... not being familiar with the film, I just assumed (bad idea, I know) that it was like the other B&W films I'd used in grade school. So, I waited until after dark, put the red safelight bulb into the bathroom light fixture, and loaded all 3 of my grafmatic holders.

ALL of the film was ruined. Apparently, a red safelight is NOT safe.

Almost all film sold today is panchromatic film, only orthochromatic film is red-light safe.

You should load all film in complete darkness (like it says on the box that the film came in) also you may have ruined the whole box not just the sheets in the holders.

Just came back from a trip to Tanzania. I shot Portra 160 VC and NC, Ektachrome 160T, and Arista 400 and 100.

Testing the f100, shot a roll each of portra 400 and acros. Portra rated at 800, acros at 320.
Seemed to me that the meter was out of whack a bit. Have to confirm with a back-to-back test.

Many rolls to develop now.

Walmart bought FujiFilm all occasions Superia X-TRA 400 35mm for my new to me, Nikon F100 through my Nikkor 28mm 2.8 AIS! I ruined the first roll, but, I have 7 more rolls to go!
