What file types are best?

I don't have my own film scanner... yet, but considering workflow. I'm currently using three file types:
- raw from the digital camera for processing
- jpeg for online delivery; and
- dng / jpeg / LightRoom-backup (with raw) for archiving.

However, for scanned film, I've seen someone (elsewhere on the internet) prefer tiffs for online delivery. For scanned film, what do you prefer for electronic delivery to clients and for your own archiving?

Why do I use dng? Because it's promised to be the only file type that will be compatible with all programs, so it should be good for long term archiving.

I scan film and save the file as tiff. After I apply corrections and capture sharpness I then save a master copy of the file as tiff, 16 bit at the scan resolution.

For electronic delivery I size the file to 360 dpi at the desired printing size, convert to 8 bit and save and send as jpeg, assuming that the final printing will be done at 8 bit.
