A while ago I bought a Xpan with 45 and 90mm lenses. Since I don't have the funds for a 30mm I bought a Zuiko 24/3.5 shift lens that had been converted to Nikon Ai mount and a Nikon-Xpan adapter.
The setup turned out to be quite bulky and the images where way out of focus. After some quick testing (Zuiko 24 on a Nikon body and a Nikon 24/2.0Ais on the adapter) showed that the error is with the adapter. I could of course get another adapter but I'm quite happy to use my Widelux instead of the 24mm shift lens.
Now my problem is what to do with the Zuiko?

Should I keep it just in case I change my mind?
Should I sell it to retrieve my investment?
Should I trade it for something else?

What would You do in my position?

Send the Zuiko lens to me, and toss the adaptor in the trash. Anyway, thats what I would do with the adaptor.

:laugh::laugh: It's about all they're good for.:wink:

Jesper, that lens is worth quite a few dollars. Peddle it or get an OM body.

The adaptor sleeps with the fishes already but the lens works fine on Nikon bodies (though it is a Zuiko it is expertly converted to Nikon Ai mount).
I have been tempted to get OM body but I have managed to resist so far (getting one would be severe GAS, I have too many systems already).

I have both Nikon and OM bodies. Send it to me.

Sorry, but giving it away is not on the menu. I paid almost $1000 for it but I think I made a good deal. A recent auction (with original OM mount) ended at $1253.
I'm up for a trade if anyone is interested

Hi Jesper,
I know that this is now an old thread, but I just wondered whether you still had the original OM mount for this lens?
Like you, I have one of these lovely lenses that has been converted to a Nikon AI mount and I'm desperately trying to find an OM mount for it so that I can use this lens with my OM bodies.
I would be quite happy to pay you a decent price for the mount if you still have it.
Thanks,
Rob

Sorry, I bought it already converted. Maybe the easiest solution would be to get a Nikon body to use with it. Just remember to get a body with a viewfinder that does not protrude too far (No F3, F4 etc). Of course you can turn the camera upside down but that can be tricky if you want to use a tripod.
