Dear guys,

I'm very sorry if this is not the right place where to talk about it. On that case don't hesitate to delete this thread.
When I was little I used to make new photos in the darkroom with my brother using some of the equipment that you can see. My father was an analog photographer and when the digital came up He decided to go on with other passions. Meanwhile I became a musician and I love other kind of analog stuff.
So I've got a bunch of analog equipment and I can't find someone interested on it.
Do you know which could be the right place where to sell it? I don't want to speculate on it, but at the same time I can't give away everything for free. In the last 2 years I tried to sell all this stuff in a flea market close to my hometown, but apparently there aren't a lot of analog fun around here.

Thanks a lot,
Riccardo

PS
If you want more photo just ask

You got some nice professional stuff.

However even at this forum interest in colour darkroom work is declining...
Especially that Copytran device is something that only makes sense to someone making a lot of (colour) prints at one format or at least at one image height.

You have good equipment. So to the right person they are valuable. If you post them on Ebay there will be people interested but the shipping would be too much. I have no idea how to sell them. I sold my darkroom stuff by listing on Craiglist to find local buyer. But doing so I got very little money.

That stuff is not ideal to be sold locally, but otherwise the shipping costs will be something a potential buyer will have to take into account pricewise.

AgX , it looks to be some great stuff. I tried googling Copytran 1220T and got nothing to tell me what it does. Can you explain?

Thanks

I never saw that very model either. It is a roller easel to be loaded with a bulk-roll of paper.
A motor will pull for each exposure the paper for the required width.
Seen the extensive keyboard, there will be more features. Maybe for controlling the enlarger from the easel.

Would it be local I might take it, but not pay much.

Thanks for the explanation, AgX. I had not realised it was a motorised paper bulk roll easel

Yes, nice equipment. Alas, almost entirely outdated in these largely digital times.

Writing as one who is also stuck with a collection of similar gear, I suggest you post it either on Craiglist for local pick-up, or on Ebay with a reasonable price, in the latter case leaving the ad active until someone decides to relieve you of the lot and makes an offer you are satisfied with or any offer, whichever is the greater (or maybe the lesser, who knows?).

Or maybe keep the best bits (certainly I would hang on to the best of the enlargers, lenses and enlarging accessories) with a view to maybe setting up a small home darkroom in the future and dispose of the rest at a reasonable asking price for the lot (higher than scrap metal cost but still attractive to casual buyers who are collecting outdated photo equipment).

The era of photography in which this equipment (both yours and mine) was usable and sought after has now passed. We are in a different century and different processes now rule the day. If only you could see the collection of stainless steel processing tanks, developing and printing paraphernalia, electric and manual timers, enlarging easels, and the two enlarger kits I paid enough for in their day to easily fund the deposit payment on a nice used car today...

All this from someone who is in your same situation and looking for an escape from all this unused but still usable photo-clutter. Eventually I will most likely just hang on to the equipment that would best suit a home darkroom enthusiast, whether me or someone else in the future. Best of luck.

Hi Riccardo, I assume "Vicenza" is "Vicenza, Italy". We have some Italy residents/Italian nationals active here in the analog section of Photrio. I suggest you contact the moderators and have them move your thread to the "Central Europe" subsection in the "Regional Focus Groups" part of the forum. And maybe add a big and fat "ITALY: ..." to the title of your thread at the same time to generate some attention. BTW, if you plan to actually sell the equipment through this forum, there is a dedicated section for that and you need to be a subscriber to be able to post ads there. But as this is a rather special case the mods might let you get away with it. Good luck with finding a new home for the equipment. John
