Looks like a Chinese clone of a popular brand.

I'm with Rick, looks like a Chinese knock-off of a Wisner or Tachihara.

Well Shen Hao is a knock-off (admittedly a pretty decent one) and this looks like a knock-off of a knock-off.

These (this?) have been appearing for a couple of years on eBay.

Initially, they wanted well over US$1000 for it, putting it in a pretty rarified price range.

Over time, they have dropped in price, probably because they are a no-name camera at a premium price!

Although it's a good looking camera, why would you bother with this when you can get a proven brand for cheaper?

May be feeling Nostalgia to Chinese Sea Goods like blue porcelains , chinese hats , silk brodery , Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan Films  And of course Silk Road , Chinese Foods , rainy hot nights , caligraphy , bamboo boats , sword brush techniques and chinese language  And Hash hash .

I would rather have a camera I know I can trust in the quality of than a couple extra bucks in my pocket. But then again, I also don't play the lottery, so maybe that is my personality.

All cameras started to be unknown, does not hurt asking, but seems no one knows nothing about these cameras....

I vote for Tackyharoid clone

Spelled Tackyharoid I as I have the 10x8" version - Now modified to make it suitable for making photographs instead of being a BBC period drama prop'

Yes, looks like a Chinese "clone". Interesting that another one sold for almost double the price just a few days ago.

it looks almost exactly like my Shen-Hao HZX-11A. But it is not.
You may want to ask the seller.

It does look like a usable camera, but then again very small things make a big difference in view cameras. How securely does it lock down? Is the back made to the exact specifacations so as to not leak light?
Does the bellows protect against IR light that may fog the film? How precise is the film plane ground glass registration?

Kind of like penguins, the majority will be afraid to jump in until someone tests the waters and reports back.

What does it say on the strap?

If they want £500 + for it - they should be happy to answer a few questions... like who, when, where.
