Just curious.... whether it's because it's rare, or too expensive or just hard to find in decent condition, what camera is missing from your collection that you've always been looking for?

I have two, a Nikkormat FS because it's rare and it's the only one in the range I'm missing and a Konica FT-1 - the best camera that Konica made but hard to find in good working condition because the internal gaskets are prone to dissolving and messing with the electronics.

What about you?

Leica R8 or 9 with motor drive, 50mm 28mm and 100 2.8 3 cam lens. Or Swiss Alpa 11e with 50mm Kern Swiss 1.7 Macro, ALPA KINOPTIK PARIS APO100.. F2 and Angeneieux 28 mm, maybe an Old Delf 35 or 28.

Oh my this is tough. I miss my youthful cameras especially my brand new Pentax ES glorious screw mount, auto exposure that worked exceptionally well.

I have an FS. Amazingly KEH had it for fairly cheap and I got lucky. I also have a Pentax SL, which is a meterless Spotmatic. While I have a lot of meterless medium format cameras, I love these because guessing exposure on an entire roll of bulk rolled 35mm is a lot less expensive than 120 or sheet film. So I use them to train my eye for exposure.

If there is any I'm missing, it probably a Philips 8x10. There are a lot of limitations dealing with 8x10, and I've settled on a very capable but fairly heavy Toyo 810mii. Everyone claims that the Philips combines light weight, capability, and enough rgidity. But I almost never see them for sale, and when I do I can't afford it.

Either the Leica IIIc or M3 ss like I had, earlier in life, or another from either Barnacle or "M" line, or a good 5" x 7" Speed Graphic or a Linholf Master 4, or an upgrade and wide, normal and longer lenses and cams.

A second Canon F1 AE, as mine needs work and a couple of L series lenses would also be on my no longer too expensive list as well.

After buying a Kardon, I've casually started hunting for an Kodak Ektra. It'll take a few months to save up for one.

The cameras I'm missing are mostly because I'm too cheap/not willing to raid my daughter's college fund to buy them:

Leica M3
Leica M4
Nikon F
Nikon F2

@abruzzi I also have a Pentax SL and it's one of my favorite cameras. I think it's the best M42 camera Pentax ever made. Mine's chrome; I got it for a steal from an ebay seller who happened to be local to me. I'd love to have a black one to go with it but they are hard to find in good cosmetic condition. Many of the black Pentax cameras from this period look like they've been dragged behind a truck.

I miss my Nikon F2AS I bought new in 1977 and was stolen from me in 1984. It was my first camera.

Some interesting cameras popping up here that I was previously unaware of. The Nikon F2 Titan and the Pentax SL might have to find their way onto my wanted list.... maybe I shouldn't have started this 🙈

An XPan with all the lenses would be nice, but I can still sleep at night without one.

Pentax LX. I had it in the 1990s and it was a joy to use. Today it has become too difficult to get a fully functioning one. And it has become rare and expensive.

I sold all my Leica M and LTM cameras some years ago. I really don't miss them most of the time. Right now Rolleiflex TLRs with their awesome image quality are my true weakness. But I did have a very nice Leica III at one time that I do miss occasionally. The Barnack style Leicas were my favorites and though I know it can be a slippery slope I suspect a Leica III might find me again one of these days.

I don't really want one now, but back in the early '70's I drooled over the ads in the back of photo magazines of the day.
A used KW Praktina/Praktica with the spring motor drive and the 250 exposure back was just so "Camera Lust"- inducing to me.

The completionist in me has almost bought a Mamiya 645 several times to go along with my RB67, C330, and 6.

Maybe one day, I'll be able to afford to get into 8x10.

In my large collection of Nikkormats and Nikomats, I am also still missing an FS. The other camera I would like is the Konica FT-1 Auto Half. Konica made a parts kit to convert the FT-1 to half frame. My favorite half frame camera and lens combo is a Konica Auto Reflex (1965) and a 28mm f/1.8 Konica UC Hexanon (approx. 1976).

For many years now I have not had GAS attacks. For me, I have all the photographic equipment that I want and I no longer feel the tug for a new camera nor desire any more lenses.

None! I just looked, they are all in their proper place!
I must have trained them well.

I'd like a Leica III, IIIa or IIIb. I certainly don't need one. I already have five perfectly functional IIIc and later Barnacks but I think I'd enjoy using one of the pre-unit construction cameras.
