What camera are you lusting after, and why?

Pentax Spotmatic ES or ES II... not the most beautiful but probably the most advanced camera that'll take all my nice M42 lenses.

Also everything large format, the larger the better. Everything from 15x20" upwards makes me faint... "oh Lord, won't you buy me..." *hums*

Probably a nice fully manual split-prism focussing 35mm SLR.

I wuold also love a split-prism screen for my RB67.

Did recently buy a Nikonos III with lens.. so that solves underwater..

Woud like to replace my 30D with a 5DII... *ducks*.

No bellows, but what you want is the compass camera... it does have a tiny ground glass screen and takes 36x24mm plates
Also a camera I'm very much lusting for... soooo beautiful, like a swiss watch that doesn't tell the time but takes photos.

I'm giving serious thought to selling both my 4x5 and 645 kits and consolidating with a Mamiya 7 with 65mm lens. I know I'll miss the ability to employ front rise a huge amount, but at the moment I'm really not enjoying what shooting colour 4x5 is costing me, and I'm growing tired of the "should I or shouldn't I even bother stopping to see if this shot looks good through the camera" moments I'm having a heck of a lot lately.

Though maybe I'm just chasing a magic bullet…

I'm lusting after a DSLR with video capabilities...despite their shortcomings I'm genuinely interested in giving videography a try and it seems to be the best way there.

In reality though, I plan on holding on to my Mamiya 7 and Leica M7 for the rest of my life. They far exceed my capabilities right now but I'm okay with that as they are the proudest of my possessions. Any further money spent would likely do more harm than good for my psyche and work in general. I look forward to growing older with them at my side, as sappy as that sounds.

What you need is a filter that improve the composition prior to triggering the camera.

Nikon F/F2 because of how extremely highly regarded they are. Seriously...if you go to one of those "Whats your favorite 35mm SLR?" threads, 70% of the results are Nikon F/F2/F3. It was also the SLR to have for 2 decades or so. Nikon must've done something really right in 1959.
Anyway, I've never tried a Leica, but I guess there's something in them for so many people to call them the best rangefinders ever. I also want a Graflex Speed Graphic but developing sheet film would make me broke. I also need to get an Argus C3 sometime; they're cheap as hell and look great.

i'm no longer looking for a bull's eye, a brownie or 3a that i was lusting for
i have a 3A that i use very often, roll my own spools of paper negatives, sometimes hand coated
i have a agfa box camera that is a family heirloom given to me by the person who used to use it
and i really don't want a bull's eye anymore too much $$ and i make my own shutters
to expose paper

I, like Ralph, already have my dream cameras. My 'big love' is my Hasselblad, but I not so secretly betray her with a hot Latin Lover called Pentax 6x7 MLU... Damn, are those negatives sexy....

On a somewhat more serious note, my GAS is clearly aimed towards FB papers - I can never have enough - and I spend a lot of time working on my DR printing skills, as I feel that the print is where an image becomes alive and one can use the best cameras and lenses, if the prints suck or if one is just scanning, it's like buying the best ingredients for a meal, but never lovingly cook the meal or just throw the stuff in the microwave or burn it in the pan - LOL! Just my 0.02 EUR

Why: For no good reason

I've been lusting after a Canon New F-1 since I filled out my FD lens collection. My AE-1 works perfectly and never leaves me wanting; even my AT-1 works great. So why do I want teh heavier F1? Because ... Pro models are better or some such non-sense? Because I'm a camera slut and the new F-1 seems like it would be fun.
At the other end (or rather, in the middle), I have started lusting after a Speed Graphic with a 6x6 roll back and some polaroid holders. This, despite the fact that I have a wonderful Bronica ETR-Si with the lens trio I want, and I have a Kodak 2D for when bigger is better.
So, why the speed graphic? Because it would give me a camera with movements I could use for 6x6 when I wanted them, and it has an focal plane shutter letting me play with all the barrel mount lenses I keep seeing online. I have some strange idea that I'd go to comic-con or something and shoot instant photos (ideally type-55 so I could keep the negative) of people in costumes. But the reality is, I'd probably never do it.

For the last 2 days I was lusting for a nicer Kodak Brownie Hawkeye and a nicer Kodak Brownie Twin 20. But, now that I have them ordered there's nothing left to lust after.

Why these cameras? They take back to a time when photography was fun. That was a long time ago.
