1.Not being able to use it because we've got some building work going on.

2. That knock on the door that means I've been in there WAY too long.

3. Not being able to produce prints that match my visualisation. Simply remedied though - take my time to print my negs, which brings me back to point number 2...

4. On a Monday evening, when Radio 4 has 'Quote unquote' on. Probably THE most annoying so-called panel game in the world.

5. The annoying jingles on Planet Rock. Music's not usually too bad though

When I built my darkroom, I was working from home, and would sneak into the darkroom when I was supposed to be working  - to help with this, I put a phone line (actually 2 lines), and an intercom into the darkroom (our doorbell is integrated into the intercom system). I have lived to regret having that intercom in there.

When my i-pod battery dies at the beginning of a session.

Space. I'm using the back wall of a walk in closet which is fine for everything but larger prints. 11x14 is the absolute max.

OK!

I really really like the darkness so I won't have to see the big hariy spiders :D

... and I like my new tray that is glass fibre instead of moulded plastic. It is very sturdy go carry the prints up the stairs to the bathroom.

... but what I like the best is that as long as it is not early spring, I can have the room set up for printing all the time; I can start printing in 5 minutes. At spring my spouse use it for growing tomatoes.

Why so negative?
Why not 'what do you really LIKE about the darkroom?'

1. It's my hidey hole.
2. The satisfaction that comes from the occasional good image
3. It's custom built.
4. It's like my wife. Small, yet perfectly formed (he types as she reads over his shoulder  and great fun in the dark  )
5. My RH designs f stop timer. Probably the best tool in my darkroom by far.
6. My Nova slot processor - so I can make just one print if I want to without having to faff around with making up new chemicals.
7. No telephone.

.............Hic:tongue:  :D

The only thing I don't like about my darkroom is the layout. Well, ok it is a bathroom afterall. For that, it functions rather well, so I have no real complaint.

As for what I like best, it is watching the image slowly appear as the paper sits in the dev:cool: . And that works in any darkroom I've ever been in, no matter the layout.

The very, very long, supply trains for the VOLVO factory and steelworks in the harbour, passing at about 150 meter near on a high border, and causing vibrations like a small earthquake. The darkroom is in the loft of my studio.

 Guess also have to be careful which bath you put it in.

"Honey, when did you buy a yellow toner for these prints?"

no buckets?

Needing to pee. The bathroom is one floor up.

Doesn't everyone have a darkroom bucket for those times? Am I alone in this?

... 1 Litre Coke Bottles ...

Thank god my darkroom is my bathroom LOL.

My co-worker said "In an emergency... I've used the sink"

How about old chemical bottles....

Naw cuz you could reuse those, and they feel too much like the other chemical bottles that you might accidently utilize them in development...\

LOL
