I've used PMK successfully for several years for roll and sheet films, but I'm curious about other pyro developers. I've read a lot about Pyrocat, and will test with it in the near future. I seldom see John Wimberley's WD2D+ mentioned, though, and would like to know if anyone uses it, and how it compares to either of the other pyro developers I mentioned. I intend to use it primarily with 120 roll film.

Good stuff. I've found it to be a bit more forgiving than PMK. I didn't use distilled water and I only agitated once/minute. When I run out of PMK and pyrocat, I'll give it another go.

Jim-
What I'm after, I guess, is comparisons of apparent grain, ease of printing, general appearance of the image, etc. I've read a ton about pyrocat, and I'll try it, but what's the difference between it and WD2D+. With PMK, I find I get all the latitude I generally need in terms of +/- development (within reason), and that in combination with VC paper, I have a lot of flexibility providing I nail the exposure. What's the "magic" in WD2D+, or what's the advantage of it or pyrocat, other than that pyrocat can be used in reduced agitation/stand development?

The obvious answer, is to try it, of course. I'm just trying to get some input from those who know and can expound a bit.
