Does anyone have any knowledge of which 210mm or less lens, coverage up to 8x10, will screw directly into a Prontor #1?

Francesco, the late model 210mm Schneider G-Claron lens groups will screw directly into a Copal #1 (and thus, presumably into the Prontor #1). They do cover 8x10 with limited movements. At the moment, I have two of these lenses in the late version and one in the old version (it requires a larger shuutter).

I have a 210-mm Rodenstock Sironar (no N, no APO, 1973 date by serial #) that screws into a Copal 1. It barely, and I mean barely, covers 8x10.

Yikes! I'm guessing no rise and fall on that lens....

Francesco, take a look at this APUG thread on the 210mm G-Claron. My experience with the 210mm on 8x10 agrees with the comments (at f22 it just covers straight on, at f32 and smaller it covers with movements. Schneider's published coverage numbers are very conservative.

Thanks Tom. I will take a look. No ideas for less than 210?

Oh Yes! Both the SS 150mm XL Aspheric and the SS 110mm XL Aspheric cover the 8x10 Format and both fit the Copal #1 and Prontor #1 shutters. The 110mm XL is one sweet lens! I am sure the 150mm XL is equally impressive.

When I get my scanner back up and running, I'll post some scans of my 8x10 Azo contact prints made from Efke 100 negs shot with my SS 110mm XL and my 210mm G-Claron. Also, I have Azo prints of some of the same subjects taken with my 305mm Apo Nikkor (with the sock shutter) for comparison.
