Welcome to APUG. I downloaded a web image of that pepper just last night (or one of EW's peppers, not sure what number it is). It's something that will never be duplicated, but it's very inspiring. Gives me something to shoot for.

It looks like you have a good cover already. I couldn't add anything to that, other than, in my mind, it maybe should be a nude. The layout you have there looks great, w/ the wording on just the side.

Be careful what you download. First, you don't know the origin of the image--what was it scanned from, and how well was that done? Try to see an original, it will blow your mind. Otherwise, get your hands on a well-printed book on Weston. I like Edward Weston: A Legacy the first set of plates is has some of his peppers, cabbages and shells. The Aperture book is good, but I have two that were printed years apart and the peppers look quite different in them/ Here is an example of the range of what you might find on the internet:

Or better yet come for a visit to Wildcat Hill and get a presentation of Four Generations of Weston Photography

Thank you! Yes it is quite the photograph. To see in person is something else.

Maybe a nice shot of Edward's desk. Do you have a title yet? "Growing Up Weston" comes to mind.

Hey!

Yes, "Growing Up Weston" is the first part of the title. We also have a fun documentary called "Growing up Weston" that we are tyring to get uploaded to youtube. We do have a Youtube Channel with some fun content on the family and what we do on Wildcat Hill.

Please, Kim, don't take these bozos seriously. Are you writing a whodunit or a comedy or a memoir? The pepper incident might make for an interesting chapter, it is not a whole book. You have an interesting story to tell, with anecdotes about people we are interested in and insights into what made them tick.

It is a memoir! Basically a collection of stories of my life both photographically and some not. But everything is tied together.
