Hello everyone,

I would like an honest critique of my website before I submit it to galleries. Ease of use, image quality, loading, etc., would be very very appreciated.

Here it goes: www.suspendedmotion.com

Thanks,

Richard

Keep in mind that I'm just returning to film photog. after a long hiatus dallying around the digital world.

I thought they exhibited very good tonal range (with the exception of those shots where your goal was otherwise). They loaded just fine. Nice work in my opinion.

Loaded fine. As photo journalism is your speciality, I think there are better pics to open with that the student conservation shot. I like the woman and child in the cancer hospital. It's arresting and profound without being shocking. Represents your portfolio better,I think. You need viewers to want to explore the galleries and this does it better, I believe

Best of luck

thanks for the opinions thus far... would love more if any would give it.

You present some meaningful and important photographs on your site. It is easy to navigate; it loads fast and looks good on Opera 9.27.

Dear Richard,

A larger font as well as larger thumbnails on the "gallery" page would be more striking. I guess I would say you would be just a bit bolder.

I kept wanting to see larger images, both thumbs and display, but mostly the display images. You may have a server size limit, I don't know.

I also am using a 23" Apple display, which is fairly high res, so the images might be larger on some other displays, but I still found myself wanting to see larger images.

Nice work, though. I used to do a lot more journalistic / people stuff when I was in college, but as the years went by, I settled on object oriented work.
