March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day, Northwest Ireland.

According to Met Éireann : "Cool and cloudy today with some bright spells at times. Mostly dry with patchy mist or drizzle, especially in the west and north. Later this afternoon drizzle will become more widespread but a lot of areas will stay dry. Top temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees"

A typical St Patrick's day.

:munch:.....was in the 90's yesterday in So Cal, suppose to be much cooler today, in the 70's......

I was born in Hollywood right off Route 66. I grew up in Norwalk. I lived in Anaheim while working at Disneyland and attending USC. I know the Santa Ana Devil Winds. I know how it feels to open your front door at 7:00am and be hit in the face with a blast of 90F+ heat and 70%+ humidity. I remember playing pickup basketball in near-100F heat. Outdoors. In March.

Then I moved to Washington state...

It's March. It's not near-100F. It's near-34F. My front yard is dusted in snow. If it were dry ice, I'd think I was living on Mars. Like clockwork, our first decent weather day here won't arrive until July 5th.

Only 110 more days to go.

Bright and sunny here today, although a touch windy. The temperature is 7C.

Fairly typical March weather for the south west corner of Canada :whistling:

Not to worry. Rochester New York has two seasons: winter and the 4th of July. Some years the 4th of July does not arrive.

We've got lots of relatives up there too. Although traveling the entire state of Alaska I can't say I like super cold weather, but I really tire of the heat in So Cal. I guess we're always looking for the perfect zone to play in, but it's a moving target world wide.

However, you have a short drive to cold weather from southern California, and there you can enjoy the cold and then leave without shoveling snow.

Well, cool weather, anyway. 80F tomorrow here, 53 at Big Bear.

44F tonight here. 31F at Big Bear, which I guess does qualify as cold.

Thunderstormy in the Seattle area. Saw some nice t-storm cells north of here, toward Ken's area. Got a few shots of the valley in that direction. Will be processed tom'w morning. Hope to pick them up later in the afternoon.

It's freakishly warm in Switzerland at the moment, up to 20 degrees C. We have had lunch out in the garden a couple of weeks ago it was so warm and sunny. The temperatures are forecast to drop at the weekend so we may yet get some Winter weather.

....:D

Ken, if you reverse this statement you've got So Cal weather. Our one time rain event this year looks like it could have been our winter this time around....

Wind. Terrible wind and 56°. Tried to go out in the wheatfields to sight infinity on the old farmhouse up the road, on the Hasselblad I had been working on. Had fashioned a GG back to see how well it jives with the screen. Couldn't even get the black cloth over my head. The wind kept blowing me backwards and the tripod and camera kept wanting to blow over. Totally impossible, so I had to come home and watch movies on youtube.

It's finally warm here (76 F right now), though I doubt it's going to last. But it's windy as all heck. It always seems to be windy here. Is that a midwest thing no one here notices and therefore no one warned us about? I've been doing an instant shot per week project and wanted to do this weekend's outside. But I'm sure I'll have the same problem as Tom ^ with the darkcloth (never mind keeping the 4x5 from blowing over).

Pretty much the same conditions here. 75 with 30 MPH constant winds. It's been VERY dry, too. Pretty much no humidity for weeks.

No matter what I do, there seems to be static everywhere. Just had to wipe down my changing bag/tent and all my 4x5 holders and film boxes with dryer sheets to cut down on static.

Even with humidifying my darkroom, just walking around the house generates enough static for some big shocks... Thankfully I've only fogged some test strips with the static so far!
