During to course of making a batch of emulsion, you have several holds at 60C or so. Is there a water loss that should be accounted for or is it negligable?

How long is it holding? Put a lid on it? How much water?

Thanks Ron.

Holmburger, the beaker is a 600ml, the holds can be anywhere from 10 minutes up to an hour IIRC.

Look for what's called a Berzelius beaker as they are taller and skinnier than a regular beaker. They are sometimes called "narrow form" beakers. You can decrease the open surface on the emulsion using one of these beakers compared to a regular beaker.
