I ordered some aquarel papers from this shop as the price was half of what the papers normally cost.

Instead of A3 that I ordered, I received A4 size. I contacted the seller about this. They suggested some kind of discount from this mistake. I refused and told I would need the correct product. Then the communication slowed down immediately. They asked me to return the incorrect products and promised to provide return address. Nothing heard. I asked again, nothing.

Then I said if they aren't going to fix this, I will report to Paypal (which I used to pay). Suddenly, but slowly things progressed. They decided to refund only difference to A4 paper size by their own prices (1,47 euros).

We are talking about maybe 13 euros worth of paper and they are playing games..

So.. beware of this shop.

You have the right to ask for a full refund and return the product. Don't keep the paper if you don't want to, Paypal will be on your side and they know (or should know) it.

They promised to provide return address but never did. I assume this is because in Europe the seller should provide the shipping costs.

It would appear that this company has been established only since Aug 2020 and has a motion against it to strike it off So, yes a good warning

I recently ordered Gamsol for my drum scanning and some brushes for my daughter from them, fully expecting that they were a scam (price was much cheaper than any other place and shipping was free!!! - never seen that before in my life in Europe). It all arrived very quickly for less than half the price I'd pay for shipping alone from other stores...

I've moved this thread for now to the Presentation and Marketing sub-forum, because of the material involved.
It might move again ...

In cases of not fulfilling the contract in Germany the seller must pay the return cost, which I see as sending a printed postage label. I have nearly the same case with a different, impudent online seller from a different field on even lesser money going on for years and I finally told the seller to go to court against me.

You are going much further AgX. I'm probably going to only dispute this on Paypal and that's it. If I get even a bit of scratch for the sellers reputation on Paypal side, that is enough. They have stolen my time & money and I think they deserve it.

I do not understand why the sellers need to go through this way. I'm pretty sure it must be cheaper to just refund incorrect products & apologize - instead of wasting time arguing with customers. Especially on case where they have made the clear mistake. For me personally this is some kind of sunken-cost-fallacy situation. I've traveled to post office to pick the package, emailing back and fort with "proof" that I got wrong products (as if they didn't know it) etc.

I actually don't know if I would even need to return the products at all by Finnish law. If I remember correctly the seller need to come pick the products but I do not even need to carry those to postal office. The law is really on side of customer on these kind of cases anyways.

I do not get it either. Often the customer buys online just to spare him the hassle to go to town. If the seller did a mistake the buyer already has to do so. The ideal way would be to send the voucher in advance, then the proper product, so that the buyer just can exchange parcels with the postman. In my case the seller argued that his office has no printer at all so that he cannot print a voucher. Instead he sent me overdue letters.

I have no idea why it did as it did but my objective in my#4 was to indicate that there imay be some danger that refunding money via Paypal may be the least of its worries as it may be about to have its status as a registered company withdrawn due to not doing what the U.K. company law demands of it.

It all depends on whether it is a "company of honour" which wants to do the right thing and has just made mistakes with both a customer and company law or reflects less honourable standards when called to account

Refunds and rebates are a good sales gimmick. Companies know about 30% will actually be used. And if you make it a finacial indisposition to get a refund for something, then the person is NOT going to get a refund.

Ie, if a part costs 3$ and it would cost 5$ in return shipping to the manufacturer to get the refund, who is going to take the 2$ loss on the shipping?
