Hi there,

Getting ready to order some Japanese Kozo and have a question.

Some handmade papers have very slight lines on them, probably from how the screens were made. Do these disappear once it has gone through alt-photo processes, or do they remain after an image has dried?

Thanks.

It depends on how they're displayed, but yes, they will easily show up. The paper is simply thinner in those places, which means that optical density will be less, the background will reflect more light through the print etc.
Don't lament the lines - celebrate them!

Thanks, and yes, much about alt process is letting go so the magic has space to reveal itself 😁
