Pfft. A nude man! Shock, horror, gasp. <*yawn*> More of you ought to try this out. Being liberated is a fabulous experience.
On this past Christmas-New Year travels I frequently photographed nude (and rode through the beautiful outback night on a GT Zaskar Expert with an 800 lumen light to show the way, logging 16km out and back) as I whistlestopped around the very, very hot and dusty outback (that is to say, 45°C, which is very oppressive and only dipping to 33°C overnight). No creeks or pretty jewel-green plunge pools out there to stand in (but I did just what that fellow did on a camping trip to tropical Walker Creek in the Northern Territory in July 2011). What is surprising is that nine years on, that guy is still standing in the plungepool. I imagine his cellulite-mottled rissoles are now char-grilled from the sun...

Some cultures are uptight about nudity and other things... that's unfortunate.

Now that takes big balls to take that view camera in that location. Big BLUE balls! Hope everything warmed up OK.

This is wonderful example of normal nudity. What I mean is you didn't violate standards of decency by being nude. As such that would be perfectly understandable and legal as well in most western countries. In Finland there's no strict laws regarding need for clothing, but there's strict rules of acting in manner of decency in public (which by most accounts require clothing).

Well done Sir! Also thanks for inspiring me to go way beyond my own limits in future by showing excellent example.

The photo was taken by his wife. It is not a selfie nor taken with a timer.

I want to see what he photographed. Clothed or not, it would have to be a great shot before I'd stand in freezing water fiddling with a view camera. I like dry and warm

The things we have to do for a shot. The only way I could get the angle I wanted was to wad into the middle of the stream and I did not want to get my pants and undies wet. It sucks to have to hike out with chafing underwear. It was DARN cold! How cold, about 1 inch, that's cold LOL. Anyway I will be processing the shot tonight and hopefully it will be worth the embarrassment.

Naturally my sweetie had to record this posterior for posterity  This shot was taken at the end of highway in Sheep River Provincial Park, 46 km W of Turner Valley along SH 546. Just hike down from Blue Rock campground.

Eric

Kudos to your wife on capturing the moment. Other than the cold water, that looks like great fun. It reminds me of an old skit that Red Skelton did about a nude painter.

I absolutely concur with the comments about normal (innocent nudity). It is just too bad that there has be a steady (successful) move in this country (US) to criminalize everything that offends anyone. In my heart I truly believe that the underlying causes are twofold. First, there is a segment of the population that cannot tolerate others enjoying life because they themselves are miserable. The second segment consists of those that wish total control every aspect of our lives. I suspect that the both segments have a great percentage of members in common. Sorry, I'l get off my soap box now.

Thanks for making me smile. I'd love to have a copy to hang in my darkroom.

Amen. As a small government-type, I wish people would get over it. Suspect that, if more people in the states (and probably Canada) were naturists, maybe there would be less tension.

Eric, next time you're in the Seattle area, head over to the Utilikilts shop. Buy one. That way, next time you're on vacation, and have to do a repeat, just unsnap the apron snaps, slide out of your footwear, wade into the water, get your pic, then, you can easily cover yourself without any concern about a possible vehicle driving past before you have your clothing reinstalled.
