Hi,

Looking for a top quality RC warmtone paper. I have only used Ilford's paper which looks great, but wondering if any of the cheaper papers compare in quality?

Printing weddings etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think only Forte and Foma have warm tone RC paper besides Ilford, but I could be wrong. There are some Arista papers too, but I believe they are Forte, so they may not be sustainable for the future.
11x14:
Foma 25sh - $29.99 ($60 for 50 sheets)
Forte 50sh - $69.99
Ilford 50sh - $78.49
Arista 50sh - $45.99 (Forte)

There's also Fotokemika's Varycon paper, which isn't technically a warmtone paper, but has a somewhat warmer look than most neutral RC papers because it has no brighteners in it.

I love Forte's Polywarmtone RC. You can get the Arista Brand at Freetyle photo and it's the same stuff. They seem to have a lot of it in stock. It has great keeping characteristics and tones well in selenium.

The Forte RC paper is considerably less expensive than Ilford's offering. I would hate to sacrifice on tonal qualities. Perhaps I should buy a sample pack of Forte.

Any fans of the Forte RC?

Yes. As I mentioned above it's lovely stuff. Looks warm in normal developers and not the dingy olive many warmtone papers give you without toning.
But if you're interested you'd better grab some fast. Forte went out of business for good a few months back. Stocks are getting low already. It's hard to find the 8x10 in US stores now.
