Just a heads up on the amazing photography show that is on at the Vancouver Art Gallery right now.

Actually 2 shows that are on and both are amazing.

first floor is the Real Pictures: Photographs from the collection of Claudia Beck and Andrew Gruft

A breath taking collection of photographs dating from late 1700s to present. From Julie Margret Cameron to Ansel Adams to Robert Frank. A huge colletion.. more photographs than you can handle..
Its amazing to see some of the first photogrphs ever made. on till May 29th

second floor is the Rodney Graham's show who is a local artist. Not a photography only show but his giant prints of upside down trees are worth seeing so are his short films and other art. on till may 8th

I've heard some good things about these two exhibits from friends and students who have seen them.

On my list of things to do - soon.

How

How am I to wake up in Vancouver when I go to bed In Milwaukee?

How does a Britain become a Columbian?

Wish I was there to see the show.

Well...if there are some photographs from the 1700s, I'll drop everything and fly our to Vancouver just to see 'em. (Ebenezer Brady's shots of the American revolution...Beauregard Adams' shots of Yosemite...Ezekial Weston's still lifes of maize...Rutherford Hancock Avedon's gallery of Early American patriots.....WOW!!!!)
