W. Eugene Smith and the darkroom

I saw his prints from The Jazz Loft series in Chicago one time and they were awesome. Before then, I didn't understand his style of printing. I thought he just printed too dark for me.

IIRC, the book "Darkroom," I believe it's Larry Clark who talks about the use of ferrocyanide to lighten areas selectively in a print. I can read Darkroom again every few years and come away with something new to think about. And Gene Smith is Darkroom too.
