Voigtlander 40mm f/2 SL-II for Nikon F mount

Hi, I'm looking for Voigtlander 40mm f/2 SL-II for Nikon FM3A, it seems that there're couple of versions of this lens? Some of them has the distance scale in red, the other has the distance scale in yellow, however in both cases sellers named it the same.. What's the difference?

one is in red, the other in yellow? LOL ;-) seriously though, probably nothing different between them. Could always ask Steven Gandy (rangefinder.com) who is/was a voigtlander distributor.

I think there are two versions, essentially the same lens, but the most recent has been updated with a new style focus ring. The paint colors may relate to the change.

If you look closely at the yellow numbered lens the focus ring is the scalloped style. The other example with red numbers has a different style focus ring, I believe this is the slightly older style lens. My understanding is they are otherwise the same.

The difference is in the focus ring as drkhalsa says - the N version (first link) has a metal focus ring and is slightly better built, the original SLII had a rubber ring'd focus ring. More specifics on Cameraquest's website here:

Thanks guys, you're right, I've talked to Stephen Gandy and he confirmed what you said, the one with yellow paint is a more recent version with better focus grip/build.
