I was just given this old beauty, but I'm not sure how to focus, no focus in camera viewfinder, but has an external attachment...Help! , Am I suppose to guess the focal distance?...it's a great camera, feels solid and has the skopar lens, any help appreciated

Photographers of the day could accurately estimate distances. There were external rangefinders that would fit the flash shoe one could add also, they show up on ebay once in a while.

They made an uncoupled accessory rangfinder that fitted in the flash shoe for the camera..

Yes, "estimate" is the better term than "guess".

This camera came w the ext view finder, but seems Abit complicated, difficult to see through very sm view window, estimate is accurate, but not too far off guessing, especially when moving camera to set focus ring...it's a cool camera, will take time to get used to ...thanks again for the input, these forums are truly great!
