It seems to me you have some items with potential value, depending on condition. It would be worthwhile to have someone who can recognize the potential value have a look.

if the dry plates of images on them
they might have value depending on the subjects
the unopened ones, who knows ( eBay again search dry plates in the size you have )
sometimes they are all stuck together in one big lump, sometimes the boxes leaked
but the boxes are fun, i have some in my cabinet .. can't get myself to expose them

i was given handfuls of dry plates a few years ago,
they were saved from the dumpster ( like you are doing ) ..

nice time capsule by the way !

call your local historic society of library's local history room
they might know who are on the dry plates and offer to tale some of them
off your hands

What a treasure trove. A lot of us can only dream about finding something like this. The glass are used for light condensers for enlargers. A set one of the larger ones looks like from a Beseler enlarger. The kind I had to pay $90 bucks for after rolling it off the counter on to a cement floor. Should have heard the swear words that day.

i have been doing some research. found marking on one, it says scovill mfc..found out in 1889 adams joined with him to make scovill and adams then changed to ansco company..and since it is before 1889 and i am guessing somewhere around 1850s or 60s..i found a brass lens and can not find any pics of it online or anything close to it..some are close but has a twist knob on the side of the lens, and has no marking on it.
and the other camera has sueguess wood burned on the back of it can not find anything on that one at all...the last one just has Z 5p07 and looks like cherry wood and very heavy for a small camera

Is there a photo of the Scovill camera? As you may know, they made dozens of different models of cameras. How can you tell if it was made before 1889? Also, what is the size of the ground glass in the back of the camera ie 4.25x5.5, 4.25x6.5, 5x7, 5x8, 6.5x8.5 inches etc

stamped in the wood. in very small print it says scovill mfc company. from what i have read over last few months, in 1889 adams joind with scovill then became scovill and adams. so mine is between 1849 and 1889. the glass is gone on the back. but from size somewhere around 5x7 or 8x10 will have to measure tomorrow. and since many modles were discontinued when adams joined thhis could be a discontinued one
