How big is "poster size"? 11x14"? 7x17"? 12x20"? I didn't know glass plates went that big, although it's certainly possible. If they're bigger than 8x10", expect more money even in 'needs restoration' condition. Here is an 11x14" plate holder than went for $135 for 1.

They also could be in regular 'plate' sizes, which are listed here, make sure if you're selling them you get the sizes right (also watch out for things like 9x12cm film fits in holders the same outside dimensions as 4x5" film, you have to measure the size inside if there's no writing).

Hell no. Anything that looks like it's still in a sealed cardboard box that could be film, leave it be for an expert.
Of course it's probably dead from age, but some people like that stuff (I just shot some Panatomic-X with 1979 expiry and got some very nice shots).
It could still be something not film (eg I saw some bromophen in a photo, that's developer but could still work, don't expect any money for it though), or it could just be filters for safelights, or backdrop lighting.
Still, don't chance it, I say.

ps, Kodascope Model B got a tidy sum (although again, you'll have to test it and probably verify electrical safety to get that kind of scratch).

The medalists are supposed to be nice, my version 1 medalist has fungus on the lens and other issues. Lens haze and fungus are your enemies since they have been boxed up in a basement so long. the images make the lenses look fogged up, but that could be the camera/light you are shooting with It would be best not to try and clean without training especially old glass which can be soft. Scratching them would damage the value a lot. Those

Am I the only one seeing some pretty serious mold issues here? Certainly on all the containers and boxes, but also on some of the cameras. I think this hoard would be a lot more valuable if it had been stored above ground...

Based on the pics shown so far, my guess is that with a lot of work cleaning, photographing, and posting individual items for sale either on ebay, kijiji/Craigslist, or in a photo forum classified section, you would be lucky to realize $1000 for everything. Just a shot from the hip guess.
