I've just developed a roll of 35mm Tmax400 in Tetenal Neofin Red. recommended dilution (1 phial to 500ml water) 20 degC, for 14 mins. The negs are extremely grainy. I usually soup Tmax400 in ID11 and it's fine. I occasionally use Neofin Red for HP5+ and don't get excessive grain - so why with the Tmax/Neofin combination. It's not an important film and it was a bit of an experiment anyway but I'd love to know if anybody else uses this combination - is this grain normal or am I doing something wrong?

I'll post a neg scan asap
