Hello all
I got an Canon 7s, but in a roll of film there are six or seven images with vertical overexposure as shown. First I thought that the shutter is faulty somehow. But that can not be, because the overexposure goe all the way up and down in the negative. Faulty shutter would expose only the image area, right? Also, because the frames do not overlap, the culprit can not be film transport. So, am I left with light leak or leaks? Is there any other alternative? I can handle light leaks, but not a faulty shutter:smile:

Thank You for taking time to read this. Canon 7s is a lovely camera and I would dearly like use it:smile:

Yours

Väinö Louekari

Check the light seal. This looks like a heavy light leak from the door hinge.

It looks like a shutter problem because it goes from one side of the film to the other mid frame.

Thank You all, and particulary Sanug. Yes, just an ordinary light leak. I added a light baffle on the hinge side as in Sanug's picture. Now the negatives come out just fine, clean and crisp:smile: What a lovely camera 7s is, and we are finally getting some taste of spring here in northern Finland:smile:
