I'm going to try Velvia 100F, for the first time in LF.

I noticed on the box and the data sheet that, and I quote "The emulsion side is facing you when the code notch is in the upper right hand corner."

This is opposite to my very limited experience to date and everything I've read. Can someone who uses this material confirm that this is the case, or is it a typo or missunderstanding on my part. I've loaded some sheets but am reluctant to try without getting it confirmed. It would be an expensive cock up.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

Like all these things it is easy to show but not so easy to explain in words.

All the LF film I have ever used has the same notch code location. So what works for you will work for any film.

When the instruction say "upper right hand corner", they mean whilst holding the film in front of you in 'portrait' fashion. So the 'upper right hand corner' is on the top edge of the narrow side of the film. Then the emulsion is facing you.

Hope this helps?

Barry,

thanks for the prompt reply. Thankfully I can now reload my darkslides correctly prior to shooting. (DOH!)
