Just got 6 each, 9x12 GOMZ USSR 9x12cm glass plate holder from a Ukrainian seller, and while they do fit into the AVUS, the plate holder lock cannot be engaged. The slot terminates prior to the position where it would allow the lock to slide over and secure the plate holder, so I am going to have to be very careful when I pull the light slide out before exposing the plate.

Maybe I can find a way to modify them, maybe not...

Other than that, a bit of elbow grease, steel wool and some black paint, I think the holders will work OK.

Love that text "Leningrad" on them!
- I wouldn't destroy the patina. My holders look the same but I only cleaned them.
