Using Distilled Water For Development - Do You Still Use a Wetting Agent?

Final wash in distilled/de-ionised water for me. No wetting agent as that seems to leave outlines of the water droplets after they have evaporated.

Sorry, Bill, I misread your post then. I thought you were parodying the discussion as a children’s tale, because I didn’t remember that there was previously a forum member called RattyMouse. Were you referring to this old thread?

It probably is. It's a perennial discussion, and I took the side of 'a few drops' until that discussion.

Then I changed my ways.

I have a lot of dust here near the beach.

I swear that I can see particles flowing down with the rinse water.

And while I can't be sure that a speck of dust on frame 5 makes it all the way past 36 on the way down.

You know if a droplet formed and evaporated, any dust would be in the residue.

So I think it's important to have sheeting, and I think I get cleaner negatives this way.
