I found the Kodak stack loader a useful accessory with my Kodak Carousel slide projector.
Unfortunately these items were destroyed when our place flooded in Superstorm Sandy.

I have since replaced the old Carousel with an Elmo Omnigraphic 301AF projector.
This model uses Kodak Carousel round slide trays. I'd like to have a stack loader, too.

Since they both use the same trays may I assume the Kodak stack loader will work?
Has anyone tried using a Kodak stack loader with another brand of slide projector?

TIA,
Chris

You might want to circulate thru Thrift shops periodically in search of a Carousel project. I have seen a number of them during my wife's haunts of such stores, in search of replacement items.

Since the projector you have is only compatible with the 80-slide tray Carousel, I think there might be problems.

The stack loader is incompatible with Kodak Carousel projectors that only support the 80-slide tray. The projectors that support the 140-slide trays use a different mechanism to advance the tray. The newer Kodak projectors are backwards compatible with the 80-slide trays.

To expand on what Bill said, the EC-40 stack loader works only with thin mounts (cardboard and plastic) which also fit in the 140 slide trays. The older B40 stack loader I know little about but do know that neither works with thick mounted slides or with the oldest 500 series Carousel projectors. Your best bet would be to try one and see. But I have also picked up genuine second and third generation Kodak Carousel projectors for a song. My favorite might be the AF 760H. Stupidly expensive on Amazon but much cheaper in the thrifts and on Ebay.

I don't know but why don't you just get another carousel? They are cheap.

Why? I already have the Elmo. I like it. It's different. Not only that it's brand new. I just want to make it work.

I'm encouraged to hear from an owner of this model that the Kodak stack loader will work, as well as 140 trays.
I have ordered both items and will try them out one upcoming weekend. Remember, Ektachrome is coming soon!
