Just wondering if you get vignetting using a lens designed for a cropped sensor digital on a 35mm Nikon F6 film DSLR. I know the af and metering are compatible. Thanks, Bill

In my experience not all lenses vignette always. My 18-55 Nikon kit lens only vignettes under 20MM or so on my F5. And it's a great little lens if you can deal with the plastic. My 80-200 AFS lens vignettes in a similar range. A so-so lens though.

Why bother with a lens that was not designed for your camera and will give sub-optimal performance when the are better lenses for your camera at a lower cost?

If you have the Type-E screen, you can estimate the APS format with the grid lines. Then simply crop as needed when enlarging. People do this all the time, cropping 6x6cm to 6x4.5 and no one raises an eyebrow.

I tried the Nikon 35/1.8 DX on an F6 and there were black corners. For b/w you can crop a little when printing but I wouldn‘t use it for color. Incidentally I had an Leica R to Xpan adapter and quite a few Leica lenses cover the format.
