Michael,

I have never had that problem. But, I generally prefer Firefox over Safari.I have uploaded images from my mac, pc and linux boxes. Try Firefox and see if it works for you.

Yep, Firefox may be the answer. It's great. I mean, it has its problems as well, but far less than I've had with Safari.

I haven't actually tried Safari uploading here because I gave up trying to like safari. I also highly recommend Firefox on mac. I find it much better than Safari, however the next version of Safari in OSX Leopard might be pretty good..

Well I have downloaded firefox and I do like the layout much better. I got to the point where you input all the data of where the print is to upload and description then hit the botton and I get the next screen and then it goes to a white screen, I don't get the screen allowing me to put in info like type of film or camera. and it stays there. Sean can you help me on this.

thanks for your time

Hi Mike,

It may be something to do with the file you are uploading. I've cleared your gallery upload cache so it might work now. Failing that email the image to me apug.org@gmail.com

Thanks

I'm showing your image as 4,600+ pixels x 6,000+, try resizing the image to say 700pixels high and see how that goes..

Sean I have reduced it to 500pixels and reduced it's size to 82k and I still get the white screen. I'm going to put it on a CD and see when I get home if I can upload from my dell laptop. I just think your site can't find it on my laptop and that is why the problem. But I will let you know after I try it.

thanks

Hi Mike, try naming the file something like wh1.jpg I am wondering if dashes in the filename are causing an issue. I have also cleared your server cache again, sorry for the troubles..

Sorry Mike, I'll look into it asap and get back to you. Must be some sort of corruption with your id.

Thanks,
Sean

Are there any very long names or strange characters anywhere in the ENTIRE PATH to the file on disk? Mac permits longer path names than most other systems. I recently dealt with this issue when doing some business with Apple (who, because they were Apple, would rather say "the entire other 90% of the world should change the way it does business to accomodate our ONE FILE" rather than fix the $%^%!! thing).

Okay fellow APUGers,
We have figured it out. It was several problems, I have listed below:
1) file size was too big, needed to be under 500K
2) print size I kept it some where around 450 to 475pix
3) the folder the print was in was called,"copy of the bermuda prints", possible too long.
4) shortened the file name to one word.
even though everything worked for Mike Davis, I think it got screwed up in the whole thing.

You all were a great help and I thank you. And a special thanks to Mike for taking the time to let me upload him the photo and working on it.

Regards Michael Andersen
