@Chuck1 Do you know if the vintage LPL folding bracket has a cable release hole? There seem to be quite a few floating around. Also, a couple pieces of scrap lumber, a clamp or 2, a drill and cobalt bits are all you need.
Eli, I think we missed each other. I know how the brackets are held to the camera, it's what retains the cable release that's in question. I can't be positive about this without having my hands on them, but it looks like in the case of Linhof, there's a specific cable release for use with the anatomical grip that has threads on the plunger end, so it screws into the grip.
I'll likely buy a couple of really cheap( $10 or less) options and see what I can come up with so that if things go south, I'm not out very much money. In the $30-50 range there are a ton of options, but ruining one is a bit more painful at that point.
The super-diy option involves a metal "L" shelf bracket, some hardware and some wood scraps.
