Hi everyone,
I recently bought a complete darkroom set with some odds and ends thrown in. One piece of gear is what I believe to be a floating thermometer. Am I right?
Regards
Adam

It would appear as such. It's an alcohol thermometer anyway.

Yep, floating thermometer.
I've got a Jobo-branded one, and it's rather useless as it floats lying horizontally on the surface, instead of the bulb sinking and keeping it vertical. This one looks like it's got a better weight to keep it vertical...

Many thanks everyone for your help!
Adam

At first glance i thought it was a hydrometer.

That was my thought as well. I can't work out what the scale's relationship is with temperature whereas the "replacement Kaiser instrument has got a normal temperature scale.

The scale of that old model obviously is in °C.

Reaching from 0-50°C. (Whereas the successor goes from -10-50 °C and has got an °F scale too.)

The figures of the old model are just placed on both sides of the stem, which is very common.
