What's it like? Is it a really good paper? Where's it made? Thanks.

I googled "Ultrafine Silver Eagle VC review" and found a few hits, even one here on APUG. Never tried it myself though.

Well, I use it almost exclusively, along with Ilford RC paper when I go that way. The Ultrafine Silver Eagle is good paper, but lately I have noticed some small issues that I will be keeping on eye on. First, at least in the last batch I got, it looks like it was cut down (5x7 and 8x10) with a dull cutter blade, as there was some slight frilling along the edges, and tiny paper trimmings (almost dust like) inside the bag. It's the first time I've seen this "defect", though. I get very good blacks out of this paper. I use only the glossy, never tried the mat. I've only ever toned this paper sepia, I've gotten good results for me after some trial and error with dilutions.

Get a batch and try it, it's cheap enough.

Edit: I have no idea where it is made, rumor says EU, but there is nothing in the packaging that suggests this, so it could be anywhere. I will say, it doesn't render exactly the same as Ilford or Foma, so if it's made by one of them, it's not the same paper/emulsion formulation. But I like it, and that's good enough for me.

Yes, I figured there would be some "defects". I believe it's made in China (as is Ultrafine film).

I don't think it comes from China and not all there film comes from there either. I've used this paper and have no complaints, but I'd rather go Ilford, Foma or Adox. The reason? I know where it comes from and they don't switch suppliers and then let you find out for yourself.

Ultrafine films match Kentmyer 100 and 400 times, I think all untlrafine products are packaged from Harmont stock.

Yes, I'm using the Ultrafine Xtreme 100(35mm bulk + 120) and 400(120 only) with good success. Very nice film at a very nice price.
