I was checking to see if Photo Wearhouse was selling X ray film, and found something called Finesse 400, there is no description and only sold in bulk rolls. Anyone tired it?

Google doesn't even bring it up.
It must be a house brand, don't know who made it and what makes it different from Extreme 400. Also wonder why PW is not reloading int into casessets which would make it easier to sell, not sure I want to spend $49.00 just to try it.
Best guesses I've seen are that Extreme 400 is Kentmere; that would tend to imply that Finesse 400 might be Foma, or just possibly something new from Inoviscoat. It would be interesting to see how it stacks up against Fomapan, Kentmere, and the mainstays: Ilford and Kodak.
Don't want to buy a 100 foot roll to find out.
Interesting... is this a "new" product on their site? I don't think I've seen it before. I'm tempted... but there aren't even any development recommendations. Bulk rolls of Ultrafine eXtreme 400 have been out of stock for months now.
They now carry Artista which is Foma, 100 foot roll for either 100 or 400 is $51.99. I'll shoot PW an email asking what is the difference between Extreme 400 and Finesse.

I wounder if it's going to be a replacement for the Xtreme line, since the Finesse film is only like $2 bucks more, and theyre just letting their Xtreme stock run out first while they stock up on the Finesse

I hope the Ultrafine eXtreme is not being discontinued, I really, really like it.
First I’ve heard of Finesse. What I find interesting is they upped the price of Ultrafine Extreme 400 $5, even though it’s out of stock.
Actually, as recently as April this year, Ultrafine eXtreme was $39.95 for a bulk roll before it went out of stock, so it's up $10. But $49.95 is still a bargain.

Yeah, I had ordered a bulk roll of the Xtreme 100 June 29th and it was at $38.95, then a couple days later the price for it had went up.
It looks like they had raised the price again for the bulkroll of the 100iso to $47.95, last time I checked it I think it was at like $43.95
Can anyone explain Photo Warehouse's business model to me? They seem to be quite large, large enough to make big orders and white label film. And the film they get is good stuff, I think Ultrafine XTreme is one of the best films out there. But their website looks like it hasn't been updated in about 15 years, and they are incredibly tight lipped about what it is that they are exactly selling. It's hard to buy from them as a consumer.
It kind of baffles me, too. Some people think that Ultrafine eXtreme 400 = Kentmere 400, but I'm not sure how Photo Warehouse sells it for so much less than Kentmere. I agree their website is outdated, but I'd rather them keep their film prices low, than spend resources updating their website. It's hard to navigate, but I've never had any issues ordering.
True, it does take a small bit of digging to find certain film stocks, but as far as ordering its pretty quick & simple.
I've bought from PW for past 30 years, it's small company in Oxnard California, no store front, primary customer was the printing trade a side line was selling to school and those looking for a bargain. They would buy film in bulk and load it, at one time in the late 80s or early 90s they bought rolls of Ilford and cut it size, 35mm, and 4X5. Last few months they have added most of the film brands, as diverse as Freestyle, pricing is about what other are charging. The also sell odd rolls of film that they pick up expired rolls of film some was cold stored. They still load odd ends of Kodak film, UFE 35mm and 120 seems to be loaded or packaged on spools by Harman. They also sell paper which I suppose is made by Harman, it's quite good. As prices for Ultrafine Extreme has gone up I've switched to Foma as my walking around film, Tmax 400 and 100 is my travel film.
Well, the film is now available to buy now on their site now. Still no photo or dev times for it yet.
No reply to my email. I would have hoped that PW would at least post the recommended developing times. I half expected to have it taken off their web site until they have more details, still there this AM.
So... does anybody know if this is "new" (i.e. newly listed on their site), or not a new listing but hiding in plain sight, just somewhat buried in their outdated website design?
In the past, they sold a modern grain film. Maybe they are bringing that back. They do a lot of sales on eBay, but I have seen no reference to a Finesse film.
